The views from here are stunning. The coffee shop has glass walls and looks out over Kemnay towards the Mither Tap, the most prominent, best known and easily recognised (if you are from the area!) of the the Bennachie Range. A bird table outside also provides entertainment, as you are bombarded by various birds flying in from the surrounding trees.
They serve excellent home made soups, bread, jam scones, pancakes, which are cooked to order, and cakes.
Why would I go there? Excellent fare, great views.
Any Negatives? limited seating.
Before or After:
1. Cross the Don Bridge on the outskirts of Kemnay and on your right is the entrance to the estate of Fetternear where you can walk to the ruins of Fetternear House and Bishop`s Palace. This was once the country seat of the bishops of Aberdeen. For a longer version of the walk see www.visitscotland.com/walking
2. Climb Bennachie – it's not a long walk though it is steep in parts. Again see www.visitscotland.com/walking
