Sitting on the side of a hill to the west of Edinburgh the views from Craigie's are breath taking. You can see the Pentlands, Edinburgh airport, West Edinburgh and Corstorphine Hill round to the Firth of Forth and all from an angle you won't be familiar with. You can also see the islands of Cramond and Inchcolm.
There is outside seating but in all the times I've been there the weather has not allowed us outside. Mr B wanted to try it one time but I'm afraid I preferred the views from inside.

Coffees are excellent, worth the trip on their own. To quote their website " The menu changes regularly to make the most of seasonal produce, using carefully sourced farm and local products. Food is freshly prepared and cooked on the premises. Dishes are contemporary, colourful and attractive with interesting and varied combinations. The style is wholesome, substantial and rustic ". I agree wholeheartedly. They have an extensive a breakfast menu. Again excellent fare.
Why would I go there? Great views, food and organic goodies to buy
Any Negatives? I have noticed recently that they are being taken over by the mummy and toddler brigade. Groups of young mums and 'lively' young ones making it noisy and less than relaxing. Hopefully they will allocate an area of the new extension to them
Before or After:
a. There is car parking further round past the farm where you can walk up Craigie Hill and see the views from further up and over the other side.
b. Various things for young children to do. Play on toy diggers, tractors etc, gather their own eggs from the hens, go on a planned walk round the fields.
